Arizona Science Center president and CEO takes new job in Chicago

PHOENIX — After 15 years as the CEO of the Arizona Science Center, Chevy Humphrey will be vacating her role at the end of this year, the downtown museum announced Wednesday.

Humphrey will be taking over the role of president and CEO of Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry, one of the largest science museums in the world. She will be the first African American and woman to lead that institution.

Humphrey will remain CEO of the Arizona Science Center until Dec. 31. The ASC Board of Trustees said in the announcement that it will conduct a national search for a new CEO and will “ensure the Science Center’s continued success and a smooth transition.
