PORT ST. LUCIE, FL — Authorities say a Florida man released from jail was re-arrested in the jail's parking lot.
According to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, 37-year-old Michael Lewis was arrested on Thursday for grand larceny. He posted bond and was released from jail.
Shortly after he was released, deputies working at the jail saw Lewis pulling on the door handles of several vehicles in the parking lot. They also learned he had just broken into several vehicles in the area.
He was re-arrested and charged with burglary. He was released again after posting more than $11,000 in bond, the sheriff's office said.
