SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego Fire Department has confirmed with 10News that a mountain lion attacked a boy at Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve.
This happened Monday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. just east of the waterfall, witnesses said.
The boy's father kicked the mountain lion and threw a rock to scare it away, according to bystanders.
SDFD says they rescued the boy near the middle of the canyon.
The boy was picked up by paramedics along Park Village Road and taken to a hospital. He suffered head injuries but was conscious when transported.
