ANETH, UT — Navajo police say a body believed to be that of a missing 4-year-old girl has been found.

On Wednesday night, the department announced on Facebook that the discovery of the body was made in the McElmo Creek north of Aneth, Utah.

Parents of Anndine Jones, who has been missing since March 14, 2019, “tentatively identified” the body as their daughter. A medical examiner will officially determine the findings.

Police said previously that footprints believed to be from the little girl were located along the creek.

Groups searched ground and water for days after the little girl's disappearance. She had reportedly wandered away from home.
