Business review site Yelp compiled a list of the highest rated southwest eateries in the Valley.
1. La Santisima
You'll wonder if those were really tacos you were eating when you made them at home from ingredients in the Mexican food aisle. La Santisima is authentic as authentic gets. The salsa bar alone keeps customers coming back to this Valley favorite. Which one does several people rave about? The pecan salsa. The menu features gourmet tacos, quesas, burritos. Ranked number one on Yelp's top five list, there are two locations.
This Mexican restaurant opens at 10 a.m. and serves breakfast burritos! Yelp reviewers salivated over the PHX Burrito House pork. The prices are reasonable. The $10 shrimp quesadilla is the most expensive thing on the menu. It's located at 4140 N 7th Ave Phoenix just north of Indian School on the west side of 7th avenue.
Customers said this hot spot lives up to its name "Torta Kings". The Tortas are massive, plan to use a knife and fork on it. They also serve burritos, quesadillas and tacos. Secondary to its food, the eatery's other claim to fame is its appearance on Man vs. Food. Los Reyes De La Torta has 3 locations.
4. Los Taquitos
Los taquitos is a mom and pop shop with authentic Mexican flair. The lunch crowd gets large, especially on Taco Tuesday when both locations serve $1 street tacos! Los Taquitos has two locations.
5. Barrio Cafe
Holy guacamole. The Barrio Cafe faithful love the famous guacamole with pomegranate seeds. Plus, there's live music Thursday through Saturday nights and on Sunday afternoons. There's only one Barrio Cafe located at 2814 N 16th St, just south of Thomas Road.
