Popular Asian-American supermarket chain H Mart opening store in Mesa

A New Jersey based Asian-American supermarket chain is opening an Arizona store.
 
H Mart announced it is taking over the 63,000 square foot former Albertson's building at the southwest corner of Main Street and Dobson Road in west Mesa.
 
The new market is expected to employ around 100 people.
 
City of Mesa Vice Mayor Dennis Kavanaugh tweeted his enthusiasm for the new megastore.
 
H Mart has 52 store in 11 states, this is the first in Arizona.
 
"We are pleased to be in the City of Mesa, the first expansion city for the State of Arizona," H Mart President Brian Kwon said. "The City and community have been incredibly positive and we look forward to our 13th state opening."
 
According to a release from the company:
 
The new store will stock more than 40,000 items featuring a wide variety of Asian, Hispanic and American foods and related products. The store will also include a pharmacy, cosmetics store, gift shop and an Asian food court with as many as seven restaurants and a Korean bakery.
 
H Mart has 52 stores, this is the first in Arizona.  It is slated for a summer 2017 opening date.
