Where and when to see Santa before Christmas for free

PHOENIX — Santa Claus is coming to town... several times before Christmas Eve actually! There are so many different ways to take a "pic" with Old Saint Nick for FREE!

Merry Main Street
At the Fourth Annual Merry Main Street, Santa will be available for photos from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the following weekends at Mesa’s Christmas Tree, 1 N. Macdonald:

  • Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1
  • Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8
  • Friday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15
  • Friday, Dec. 21 and Saturday, Dec. 22

Again, this is FREE, and be sure to bring your phone or camera to take a picture!

There's also a Winter Wonderland Ice Rink offers the lowest general admission price in the valley at $10 for one hour of skating, which includes skate rental.

Tickets are $8 per person for groups of 20 or more. You can purchase tickets at the rink or online at www.merrymainst.com.

Weekday specials are now available at the ice rink through Dec. 20:

  • Mondays are “Family Night” from 5 p.m. to 10 pm. Bring the whole family and skate for only $8 per person
  • Tuesdays are “Two-fer Tuesday” from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. You and a friend or significant other can skate two for the price of one $10 general admission
  • Thursdays are “Student Night” from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Students skate for only $8 with a valid student I.D.
  • Thursdays are “Student Night” from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Students skate for only $8 with a valid student I.D.

You'll also experience a nearly four-story-tall Christmas tree, Mesa Christmas Market, Santa’s sELFie Village, Jack Frost Food Truck Forest, Main Street Express trackless train, musical performances and much more. Click here for all the details.

Enjoy all kinds of free, family-friendly events and activities through the end of the year!

December 1 - 24, Santa Claus will be at the fireplace near the kids play area for photos from noon to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, and Monday December 24.

Parents are encouraged to bring a camera or phone for photos. There will not be a photographer on site. Kids will receive a gift from the Jungle Roots Children's Dentistry of Ahwatukee.

December 1 - 24, you can donate money to have people wrap your presents at Guest Services. Donations will benefit Simon Youth Foundation.

December 14 - 24, shoppers who spend $250 or more at Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide participating stores will receive a $25 gift card to one of the following stores: Under Armour, Sunglass Hut, Lucky Brand or The Children's Place Outlet. It's a limit of one entry per person.

Bass Pro Shops
Don't miss Wonderland! There are all kinds of crafts for kids. In order to get your free photo with Santa, you must get a FREE BASS PASS at the Bass Pass Station.

Time slots are on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited each half hour. Santa will be there through December 24. Kids do not need a pass to enjoy the activities in Wonderland from open to close. Click here for more information.

Here's the schedule:

  • Weekdays: Photos- 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Crafts- 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturdays: Photos- 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Crafts- 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sundays: Photos- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crafts- 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Christmas Eve: Photos- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crafts- 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

We were told if you share your photo using #santaswonderland, you'll have a chance to appear on Santa's Nice List on basspro.com.

Kohl's
Shoppers will have a chance to meet Santa on December 16.

You can use your mobile device to snap a FREE photo with Santa at the Kohl's FAO Schwarz Experience.

Children who visit Santa will receive a free FAO Schwarz surprise. We were not told if there's an age limit.
