You know him as F.P. Jones from Riverdale on The CW. Sunday, Skeet Ulrich was one of the thousands of racing fans at ISM Raceway in Avondale, Ariz.

Ulrich, whose real name is Bryan Ray Trout, grew up on the racetrack. Both his stepfather, D.K. Ulrich, and his uncle raced in NASCAR.

“It was pretty hectic. You either went home alone or stayed at the racetracks so we stayed at the racetrack,” said Ulrich about growing up on the track.

Ulrich was the Grand Marshall for Sunday’s race, the Can-AM 500 and the first race of the NASCAR Playoffs. Although he’s done it many times before, this was the first time Ulrich was Grand Marshall for a televised race.

We couldn’t leave without asking Ulrich about Riverdale

Q: We just saw the episode “The Midnight Club” where the kids become the parents. How do you think Cole Sprouse did at portraying a young F.P.?

Skeet: I think he did a great job. He’s such a talented actor. He was asking me a lot of questions like, “What did you for this for F.P.? How does he do this?” I think he’s a talented actor I love watching him.
