Move over Phoenix Suns and Arizona Coyotes, there’s a new hot sports team in Phoenix right now. Some of the rowdiest fans, celebs and local athletes are filling the stands of Phoenix Rising games, and if you haven’t caught onto the hype, you’re wayyyy behind.

“Holy #&$*” is right. Phoenix Rising is blowing up in the Valley, which is saying a lot for a United Soccer League Club, the minor leagues (kinda) of professional soccer in the U.S.. It doesn’t hurt that Didier Drogba is becoming a local sports star. Rising played in front of a huge crowd last week in a 4-2 playoff win against the Swope Park Rangers.

Local celebs have joined in the hype to bump this USL team up the top league, Major League Soccer. Brandon Perlini, forward for the Arizona Coyotes, was in attendance last week.

Arizona Cardinals Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald went to the game.

Same with Arizona Diamondbacks Pitcher Archie Bradley.

Even our own Hailey Frances got swooped up in the hype.

That win sent Phoenix Rising to the Western Conference finals this Saturday, Nov. 3, against Orange County SC. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. If the Rising win that game, they will play in the USL Championship game on Nov. 11.

Just give into the guilty pleasure of the most fun team in the state right now.
