SCOTTSDALE – Most of you know by now that Medieval Times is coming to Scottsdale later this summer. They’ve already hired their knights and sent them to training.
Now, they are looking to hire a queen and a lord chancellor.
Here’s what they’re looking for in a queen:
- Previous experience playing a role or roles in live-action theater strongly preferred
- Must be able to memorize lines and speak with a clear and dynamic voice (ability to speak with various accents preferred)
- Horseback riding will be necessary; previous horseback experience is helpful but not required
- Must be able to interact with and keep the attention of a large crowd
- MUST be able to work varied hours including days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work within a team environment in a fast paced live show format.
And here’s what they are looking for in a lord chancellor:
- Performs an expansive speaking role requiring a strong, dynamic vocal performance in front of a large crowd
- Rides a horse in the arena during the entirety of the performance
- Greets and interacts with guests, and takes pictures with guests prior to and following the show
- Assists with special functions, shows, groups and/or individual guests as required
- Supports marketing functions and other offsite events as needed
- Performs additional duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Previous experience playing a role or roles in live theater strongly preferred

- Must be able to work around horses
- Ability to perform extensive horseback riding (Previous horseback experience is helpful but not required)
- Ability to interact with and keep the attention of a large crowd
- Ability to work within a team environment in a fast paced live show
- Ability to communicate and interact with Team Members and Guests
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
