Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office will host benefit for fallen Officer Gene Lee

PHOENIX – Last week, Office Gene Lee was attacked by an inmate at Lower Buckeye Jail and passed away from his injuries. In his honor, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a benefit for him and his family.

The benefit event will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association located at 1102 W Adams Street.

“We will be serving burgers, hot dogs, chips, etc. All proceeds will be presented to the family of Officer Lee who was attacked in the line of duty on October 29, 2019 and succumbed to his injuries on October 30, 2019. The community is invited to come together and show their support for Officer Lees’ family, the men and women of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, and public safety in general.”

A hundred percent of the proceeds will go to his family for arrangements. They will be accepting donations at the benefit barbecue or online at pleacharities.org.
