Claim your part of Arizona's billion dollars

How would you like to start the new year with a boost to your family budget?

Our state is mostly a rugged, desert landscape but did you know that Arizona is saturated with extra funds?

Your money, to the tune of a billion dollars, is waiting to be claimed.

“No, I had no idea.”

“So, you don't know if you have money sitting there?...  How about you?”

“I think I do.”

ABC15 stopped some people in Tempe to see if they wanted to take a chance on finding their own unclaimed cash or property.

Troy, Jordyn and Josie stepped up to try their luck.

“Yeah, the billion belongs to me,” Troy told me.  “That's it...It's as easy as that.”

“When can I have it, I mean can I have it now?”

It really is as easy as a click and a swipe on “AZUNCLAIMED.GOV” which connects the user to “MISSINGMONEY.COM” and then the moment of truth.

“Is that you?”

“Yes...”

“That's you! We have a winner!”

But not everyone can be so lucky. Just ask Troy.

“Sorry to say you are not a winner today.”

“I am not a winner today.”

All it takes is a first and last name to start the process to see if you’ve got unclaimed cash or property so our search up Mill Ave continued.

We stopped off to visit the guys of Synapse Studios.

“Do you have any idea if you have any money?”

“I have no idea.”

“Are you excited to find out?”

“Sure.”

“Nervous?”

“You are not a winner.”

“I'm not.”

“They can't just call you up and say hey we've got your money?”

“They can't… it’s too difficult.”

“Oh and there you are...found... look at this!”

Some listings show either more or less than $100 left unclaimed but even more list unknown amounts.

“You fill it out…”

“…And they send me my $?”

“They send you your $.72 of an overage of a utility bill or whatever it is…”

“Great!”

Of course it could be a lot more but you’ll never know unless you check it out.
