The United States is about to get more topsy-turvy as several new roller coasters debut this year. Get ready for these four new thrills coming to theme parks across the country:
- Lightning Rod at Dollywood (Tennessee) — will be the world’s fastest wooden coaster.
- Valravn at Cedar Point (Ohio) — known as a dive coaster, this one will climb 223 feet and then release down a 90-degree drop at 75 mph.
- Total Mayhem at Six Flags Great Adventure (New Jersey) — will have seats on the outside of the track that independently spin, creating “total mayhem.”
- Flight of the Hippogriff at Universal Studios Hollywood (California) — a junior coaster that will be part of the “Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” which opens this year, creating quite a bit of “muggle mania.”
