Arizona Restaurant Week starts on Thursday and is celebrating a big milestone.

More than 150 restaurants in the Phoenix-metro and Tucson are participating in the 10-day event that runs Sept. 15-24, 2017. This year also marks the event's 10-year anniversary.

Restaurants will offer three-course dinners -- appetizer, dinner, dessert -- for a set price of $33 or $44 per person. Some restaurants even include a beverage with that price.

Organizers of the semi-annual event say the goal is to encourage people to venture out and try a restaurant that they haven't been to before.

While some chain restaurants are part of the the week, many, if not most, are locally-owned Phoenix staples.

Some of the local restaurants:

  • Beckett's Table
  • Southern Rail
  • Marigold Maison
  • The Stockyards
  • Clever Koi
  • Twisted Grove
  • Fat Ox
  • St. Francis
  • Liberty Market
  • Porkopolis
  • Fox Restaurant Concepts: Doughbird, Culinary Dropout, The Henry

As our Smart Shopper told our viewers a couple weeks ago, if you compare the "Restaurant Week" menus to the normal menu, you can find some serious savings, especially when you factor in the appetizer and dessert.
