A burger restaurant in Phoenix has been named to Thrillist's listing of "31 best burger joints in America."
The article's author, Matt Lynch, wrote that The Stand "is all about the burger, ground daily-in house and topped with lettuce and tomato, kosher dills, and Stand Sauce -- similar to your typical catch-all burger sauce, but a fine rendition of it."
He recommended people upgrade from raw onions to caramelized onions ("a wise move," he wrote); order some fries, and wash it down with a salted dulce de leche shake.
The Stand, which opened near 36th Street and Indian School Road in 2013, was the only restaurant in Arizona featured.

Last year, the owners opened a second larger restaurant, The Grande Stand, near Scottsdale Road and Shea Blvd. with an expanded menu that includes hot dogs, tacos, and salads.
