SCOTTSDALE, AZ — After 22 years in Scottsdale, The Melting Pot will close that location in September, according to an announcement posted last Friday on its Facebook page.

"Valued fans, we regret to announce that The Melting Pot of Scottsdale will be closing for business indefinitely as of Monday, September 30. This closure is strictly a carefully planned and weighed business decision. Despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure a mutually beneficial lease extension with the current landlord of our Scottsdale location," read the post.

Its last day of service will be Sept. 29, 2019, according to its Facebook page.

The fondue restaurant is located within the Mercado at Hayden shopping center near Hayden Road and Via de Ventura.

Currently, there are no plans to reopen that restaurant, the post said. However, "The Melting Pot Restaurants of Arizona are searching for a new home for a third Melting Pot location."

ABC15 has reached out to The Melting Pot's corporate office for additional comment, but did not immediately hear back.

Staff were being offered positions at the chain's two remaining Arizona restaurants in Ahwatukee, near 39th Street and Ray Road, and Glendale, near 59th Avenue and Utopia Road, the post said.
