CHANDLER, AZ — For those eagerly awaiting the openings of The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker in Chandler, ABC15 has learned that both concepts are expected to open in December.

Barring any unexpected delays, they are scheduled to open on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, according to restaurant spokesperson.

Next week, Dec. 3 & 4, 2019, a hiring fair will be held at the Chandler locations, 3151 W. Frye Road, near Frye and Price roads in the Chandler Viridian Primegate development, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. They are looking to fill 200 positions, including servers, bartenders, hosts, food runners, prep and line cooks, baristas, and bakery associates.

Those interested in applying should bring updated resumes with them to the hiring fair, the restaurant said.

"Both of these restaurants have grown into North Phoenix favorites and it was more than necessary to share the love with our East Valley community," owner Joey Maggiore said in a statement. Maggiore is part of The Maggiore Group, the family-owned restaurant group behind Hash Kitchen and Tomaso's Italian Kitchen.

Maggiore opened The Sicilian Butcher near Tatum Blvd. and Greenway Road in 2016. It is focused on craft meatballs, pastas, and Charcuterie. The menu features nine types of meatballs on the menu, which can be paired with a variety of sauces.

The Sicilian Baker, a customizable cannoli bar, opened next door to The Sicilian Butcher earlier this year. They have four different cannoli shell sizes ranging from minis to the foot-long Sicilian Cannoli, chocolate-dipped and plain, and a dozen fillings, including traditional cream, chocolate, cookie butter, pistachio, strawberry, and cookies and cream.

They also have pastries, baked goods, and sandwiches.

The Chandler locations will share a 6,500-square-foot space at the Chandler Viridian Primegate development near Chandler Fashion Center. Unlike the North Phoenix location, it will have a pasta room and a chef's table. It will also have an indoor-outdoor bar, a 300-seat patio with fireplaces and lounge seatings, and a butcher knife wall.

Regular hours will be 11 a.m. - 10 p.m., Sunday - Thursday, and 11 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

As part of its opening, the first 100 people in line at The Sicilian Butcher will receive a $15 gift card and meatball samples. At The Sicilian Baker, the first 100 people to say "Holy Cannoli!" will receive a $10 gift card and a medium cannoli.
