PHOENIX — PHX Beer Co., one of the newest breweries to join the beer scene in Phoenix, has closed its restaurant on 7th Street -- at least temporarily.

"We temporarily closed our 7th Street location last month [November] and are currently brewing up some new ideas. More information on that coming soon," the brewery said in a statement to ABC15, released through its public relations firm.

In August, PHX Beer Co. announced that it bought Phoenix Ale Brewery, including the brewery and taproom on Washington Street, and its restaurant -- known then as Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen -- on 7th Street, and re-branded those as PHX Beer Co. shortly after.

It is led by Adam Wojcik, who most recently was a part of the national sales team for Lagunitas Brewing Company and reportedly has 17 years of experience in the beer-making industry, and Rich Stark, who founded Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen.

At the same time as the summer announcement, PHX Beer Co. also opened a restaurant in Scottsdale near Hayden Road and Via De Ventura, which remains open.

In November, the brewery celebrated the grand opening of its brewery and taproom near Washington and 30th streets. They upgraded to a 20-barrel brewing system, fully renovated the taproom, added games such as bag toss, darts, and foosball, and added food to the menu, including shareable appetizers, panini sandwiches, and flatbread pizza.

In February, the brewery plans to open a location inside Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport's Terminal 3. It will be located on the North Terminal, along with Ajo Al’s, Scramble, Starbucks, Discover Arizona and Stellar News + Market, according to Gregory E. Roybal, public information officer with the City of Phoenix's aviation department.
