Phoenix Lights Festival changes venue, will now be at Rawhide Western Town

Posted

The Phoenix Lights Festival has changed venues ahead of this weekend's festivities.

The festival will now take place at Rawhide Western Town, April 8-9. It was originally planned for Margaret T. Hance Park in Phoenix.

In a statement, Relentless Beats founder Thomas Turner said, "a lot of time, effort and resources went into the planning of the festival, with the City of Phoenix doing everything in its power to make this work with two major events in the park on back to back weekends. Due to circumstances beyond our control the timetable to execute a safe event was not there.

Last weekend, Phoenix hosted a free three-day music festival at Hance Park part of the NCAA Final Four activities.

Turned added, "We look forward to working with the City of Phoenix to bring Phoenix Lights back to downtown next year and thank them for their support."

According to the release, the festival has arranged for shuttles to take festival-goers from their downtown hotels to Rawhide. Shuttles will pick people up at First and Moreland streets. Rawhide has also waived its parking fee for the festival, the release said.

Tickets for the festival are still available and start at $179. View PhoenixLightsFest.com to view artist lineup and to purchase tickets.
