PHOENIX — The music has temporarily stopped at Crescent Ballroom and Valley Bar because of the concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19. But people can still visit to grab a bite to eat or a drink.

"After extensive communication with city officials, our staff, musicians, and the local community, we’ve decided to keep the patio, lounge, and our restaurant, Cocina 10, open for regular business," Crescent Ballroom said in a Saturday Facebook post. "We do feel that it’s in the best interest of the community at large to close the ballroom to all concerts, dance nights, and special events until further notice.”

Valley Bar posted a similar message on its Facebook page and said "The Rose Room" bar and kitchen would remain open.

Both venues said they are following CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines, increasing cleaning, and are in communication with county and city officials regarding their future plans.

"And much as ever, the safety and health of our team, customers, and community is our #1 concern and all future decisions will be made with this as our motivation," their posts said.

They also encouraged people to support the artists whose shows were canceled or postponed by purchasing merchandise through the artists' individual websites.
