Lightning McQueen, the fast-driving red hot rod from Disney's Cars movies, voiced by Owen Wilson, will make a visit to Phoenix over the summer.
McQueen will be joined by Cruz Ramirez (voiced by Cristela Alonzo) and Jackson Storm (voiced by Armie Hammer), two new characters to the animated series.
The visit is part of a 27-city tour to promote the latest movie, Cars 3, which hits theaters on June 16, 2017, according to a news release.
Life-sized versions of McQueen, Ramirez and Storm will visit Desert Ridge Marketplace on June 3 & 4. The cars will be there on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., according to an online schedule.
Fans will be able to take pictures with the cars and see a preview of the movie. There will also be pit crew challenge where families can compete in a timed contest to see how quickly they can change a tire.
Desert Ridge says to expect long lines and because of the heat, to bring plenty of water and shade. It is an outdoor event.
