Arizona Spring Training: What's new at the concession stands around town?
Here are a few of the new food items at the Spring Training Stadiums around Phoenix.
Klements Sausage Sampler (Maryvale Stadium): A sampling of sausage -- Bratwurst, beef hot dog, Polish sausage, Italian sausage and Chorizo. Served with chips and a pickle spear. Italian sausage, Provolone cheese, house-made marinara sauce and pepperoni served on a homemade baguette.Photo by: Josh Frigerio The mac-and-cheese dog (Sloan Park): The hot dog is a staple item at any baseball game. So, how do you improve it? You add macaroni and cheese with bacon bits, of course. The green onions are just for color, obviously. Photo by: Josh Frigerio Green chili mac 'n cheese dog, Sidewinder Fries and Street Trio Tacos (Hohokam Stadium): The Oakland Athletics have a handful of new items for fans to try at Hohokam, their Spring Training home. The Green chili mac 'n cheese is a foot-long hot dog packed with green chili, mac and cheese and a little bacon. The Sidewinder Fries are garlic fries and the Trio Tacos include choice of beef or chicken.Photo by: Hohokam Stadium Taco Salad (Goodyear Ballpark): One of the new items at Goodyear Ballpark, the Spring Training home of the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds, is the Taco Salad. You can choose to have the tasty taco shell or not.Photo by: Goodyear Ballpark Mac 'n cheese burger (Goodyear Ballpark): Everything you love about macaroni and cheese on a burger. The newest signature item that unfortunately wasn't photographed was the Taquito Dog, which is a deep-fried cheese-filled flour tortilla that is topped with jalapenos, sour cream, Pico de gallo and guacamole. The Chicago Burger (Sloan Park): As it was described to us, "everything you'll find on a 'Chicago Dog', on a burger." The Chicago Burger features relish, white onions, pickled sport peppers and a Dill pickle spear.
