PHOENIX — Some Target stores in the Valley are about to get a face-lift.

The company announced Monday that seven stores in the Phoenix-metro would undergo renovations. The stores are in Ahwatukee, Gilbert, North Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Peoria, Queen Creek, and Tempe, according to the news release.

While renovations will vary between stores, Target said the changes could include adding a nursing space for new moms; updating its pick-up and service counters to make it easier for customers to pick-up online orders; and adding modern design and fixtures throughout the store, including new displays.

Target said its displays were designed to create in-store "shops" for its beauty, home, and apparel sections.

Liz Hancock, a spokesperson for Target, said in an email that the Queen Creek store has already started its renovation. The other locations will begin "later this summer," she said.

“These remodeled stores will provide Phoenix-area guests with an even easier and more inspiring shopping experience – whether in-store or online,” said Amy Probst, Target’s group vice president, in a statement. “Guests can expect an updated look and feel and a new Order Pickup counter, making it convenient to grab online orders.”

Target said the stores would remain open during the remodels, though some areas may be temporarily emptied or closed.
