YUM! 5 new eateries to try around Phoenix

If you're looking for a new place to eat lunch or dinner, there's a few restaurants that have recently opened up around the Valley.

BLAZE FAST-FIRE’D PIZZA (TEMPE)

Blaze Pizza is another fast design-your-own pizza concept that has been rising in the Valley lately. It opened its first location in Tempe on April 14 near Arizona State University’s campus. Guests can choose an array of toppings (meats, vegetables, cheeses) and sauce and it will be cooked in an oven in 180 seconds. The chain plans to open four more locations in Tucson, Phoenix, Avondale and Glendale.

MY SLICE OF THE PIE PIZZERIA (PHOENIX)

A new pizza place opened two weeks ago near Indian School Road and 38th Street. The theme is New York meets the southwest.

CRISP GREENS (CHANDLER)

Last Thursday, Crisp Greens opened its doors in downtown Chandler. It’s a fast-casual create-your-own salad and wrap concept for those who are looking for a healthy option, but don’t have a lot of time. You choose your lettuce, toppings (apples, croutons, grapes, egg, onion, peppers etc), proteins (chicken, tofu, bacon) and dressing. It can be a salad or a wrap.

THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BAKERY (OLD TOWN SCOTTSDALE)

Located on Main Street, just east of Scottsdale Road, a new bakery is bringing authentic Australian flavors to Scottsdale. The Great Australian Bakery serves meat pies (steak, cheese and bacon, chicken Mornay), pastries, sausage rolls (cheese & bacon, spinach and Feta, Quiche) often found in the land down under. They will also serve vegetarian options.

SALAD & GO (PHOENIX)

Salad & Go opened its most recent location at Pinnacle Peak and 19th Avenue. They strive to offer quick, on-the-go healthy food options, like salads, wraps and smoothies at affordable prices. They also have a kids menu. They have six other locations in Mesa, Gilbert and Tolleson with more planned to open.
