PHOENIX - Arizona State University celebrates homecoming on Saturday.
That means downtown Tempe will be filled with students, alumni, and Sun Devil fans in maroon-and-gold gear. Before the game, ASU's homecoming floats will make their way down University Drive and pass the Block Party.
Lantern Walk: Celebrating 100 years, the Lantern Walk is one of ASU's oldest traditions. Students and faculty will carry lighted lanterns to the top of "A"-Mountain. It's also where homecoming royalty is announced. The event starts at 6 p.m. and the walk up the mountain starts at 7 p.m. Free event.
SATURDAY, OCT. 28.
Homecoming Parade: The ASU marching band, school organizations and floats will make their way down University Drive four hours prior to kick-off. The parade starts at 3:45 p.m. near University and Myrtle Avenue. Free event.
Homecoming Block Party: More than 100 student and school organizations will have tents set-up at Old Main on ASU's Tempe campus. There will also be food, games and photo booths around. View Block Party map. Free event.
Homecoming game: The Sun Devils will take on the USC Trojans at Sun Devil Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Tickets start at $45.
Free parking will be available at several lots and structures near ASU's Tempe campus until 6:15 p.m. (or 90 minutes prior to kickoff) for the homecoming activities. View parking map.
We're told once you park, you're able to stay through the game. Officials said drivers should expect parking to fill quickly.
