Earlier this year, Phoenix hosted one of the biggest sporting events out there--Super Bowl XLIX.
In January, the College Football Playoff National Championship comes to University of Phoenix Stadium.
Whether or not you are an avid or casual fan, or perhaps you just learned there even is a college championship game, there will be a lot of events happening that weekend for you to enjoy.
Once again, the Phoenix Convention Center will be transformed into the ultimate fan experience. Fans can meet the competing teams' bands, cheerleaders, players, mascots and look through various exhibits.
It will also be home for media day where fans can watch their favorite student-athletes be interviewed ahead of the game. The fan experience is $12 for adults and $7 for kids, seniors and military members. There is a discount for groups of 20 or more. Tickets are on sale now.
Just outside of the convention center will be a concert stage where fans will be able to enjoy FREE nightly concerts and firework shows featuring The Band Perry, David Nail, Ciara, Walk the moon, John Mellencamp, Andy Grammer and Moon Taxi.
Fans going to the game will be able to attend the 2016 Championship Tailgate which will be outside the stadium in Glendale. You will need a game ticket to go.
There will be three benefit events that also take place that weekend--The Extra Yard for Teachers Summit, Extra Yard 5K Run/Walk, Northwestern Mutual Taste of the Championship.
The Championship game will take place Jan. 11 at University of Phoenix Stadium.
