Who doesn't enjoy barbecue and country music?

Pork. Brisket. Ribs. Wings. Poutine.

On Saturday, over 60 grill chefs and barbecue connoisseurs will take over downtown Chandler for the Great American Barbecue and Beer Festival. Probably good idea to arrive hungry and bring a few of those wet towelettes.

Country singer Granger Smith is set to perform.

Below is a down-and-dirty in-your-pocket guide to the festival.

When is it? Saturday, March 19, noon to 10 p.m.
Where is it? Dr. A.J. Chandler Park in downtown Chandler (Arizona Avenue and Boston Street)
How much is it? $15 at the door (cash only, although ATM machines are there). Food and drinks can be bought from the vendor.

Vendors include popular Arizona favorites like Little Miss BBQ, Porkopolis, Waldo's BBQ, Honey Bear's BBQ and Smoke Haus (opened earlier this year in Old Town Scottsdale).

THINGS TO DO:

Besides the food and the drinks, there are rib-, wing-, brat- and pie-eating contests planned.  There's a family-run zone with inflatables and games for the youngers ones.

The Jack Daniel's Experience Tour will be there. If you like Tennesse Whiskey, but haven't been able to make it to the distillery in Lynchburg, Tenn., this will show how it's made.
