The Arizona Coyotes have canceled what was supposed to be their first preseason game of the 2017-18 season due to poor ice conditions at Gila River Arena.

The Coyotes were set to host the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night, but poor ice conditions following a concert by Gloria Trevi and Alejandra Guzman at Gila River Arena on Saturday prompted the Coyotes to make the decision to cancel the game.

"We know that our fans and corporate partners were excited to see the Coyotes play tomorrow and we were very disappointed to learn that the ice was not in a suitable playing condition for the game," Coyotes President and CEO Steve Patterson said in a statement. "The arena manager, AEG Facilities, has assured us that all measures are being taken to repair the ice as soon as possible."

The Coyotes are allowing those who purchased tickets to Monday's game to exchange those tickets for one of four regular-season games in Glendale: vs. the Dallas Stars on Oct. 19, vs. the Buffalo Sabres on Nov. 2, vs. the San Jose Sharks on Nov. 22 or vs. the Florida Panthers on Dec. 19.

The Coyotes' first preseason game will now take place at the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday. Their next home preseason game is scheduled for Saturday vs. the San Jose Sharks.
