Glendale PD: Man wearing creepy mask threatened kids in a neighborhood with ax

GLENDALE, AZ - The Glendale Police Department says a man in a creepy mask threatened several children in a neighborhood Wednesday.

Police say it happened in a neighborhood near 67th and Glendale avenues around 1:45 p.m. while the kids were walking home from school.

An everyday walk home from school turned into a scene straight out of a horror movie for a group of Glendale boys.

"I thought I was going to die today," said Dominic who was chased.

"It's a little scary, really scary," said Dominic's father.

"I turned around an all of a sudden I see a clown go by and then he just starts running at me," said Dominic.

"He said, 'you better run because we are coming after you,'" said another boy chased Ruben Moody.

"My son was crying, in tears, almost out of breath," said mom Jennifer Moody.

Whether the man was actually trying to hurt someone or is just playing a sick joke he is still out there.

"I've seen videos of these guys playing pranks and stuff but sooner or later they will go too far," said Dominic's father.

"This isn't a game," said Jennifer Moody. "These are our children and they deserve to be safe."

Authorities later found a creepy mask and ax abandoned in the area. They released the photo above in hopes that someone would come forward with information.

No description has been given yet of the man. No injuries have been reported in connection to the incident.
