Two people were taken to the hospital Monday after a small plane went down in the West Valley.

The aircraft crashed in the desert near 291st Avenue and Sun Valley Parkway around 4:15 p.m., according to an FAA spokesman. It is unclear at this time what caused the plane to go down.

Buckeye police Sgt. Jason Weeks said crews found two people injured at the scene and both were airlifted to local hospitals.

Air15 video showed emergency crews on scene treating one patient as the single-engine plane sat nearby.

The plane was flying from Las Vegas to Goodyear, according to FAA officials.
