Police are investigating after a 1-year-old died in a drowning incident Tuesday night in Buckeye.
Police responded to a drowning call around 9 p.m. near Interstate 10 and Yuma Road for an unresponsive child found in a bathtub.
Buckeye Fire Department crews performed life-saving measures once arriving on the scene, where police had already been performing on the boy.
The 1-year-old was airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The Buckeye Police Criminal Investigation Division is looking into the incident and the cause of death.
