A woman is facing child abuse charges after being accused of assaulting a child at a Tempe home.

Authorities were allegedly told about a domestic disturbance at a home near Southern Avenue and Rural Road last Thursday, Dec. 1.

According to court documents, Audrey Call got into an argument with a child over a cell phone. During the incident, Call allegedly dragged the child out of the house and forced him to stand outside in his underwear, despite the temperature being 55 degrees.

Once the victim was allowed back inside the home, he began drawing on a wall with a pencil. Call is accused of hitting the child up to four times on the side of his face causing him to suffer a "golf ball sized bruise," the court paperwork said.

The following day, an acquaintance confronted the suspect about the injury to the child's face. Call alleged that the child caused the bruise himself, officials said.

The acquaintance called police and reported the incident.

Call was arrested on Monday and is charged with aggravated assault of a minor, endangering a minor and child abuse.
