A man is dead following a late night drive-by shooting in the West Valley.
The incident happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of Southern and 51st avenues in Phoenix.
Phoenix police say an altercation happened earlier in the evening between two groups of young adults. About an hour later, a 28-year-old man was shot and killed.
The victim was reported to have been standing outside, up the street from the earlier altercation, and is thought to have had nothing to do with the incident.
Detectives are investigating and no immediate information is available regarding the shooting suspects.
