The man accused of shooting at a Maricopa County Sheriff substation has plead not guilty.

Jonathan Perez plead not guilty at his arraignment at his arraignment in Phoenix on Friday morning.

Perez will appear in court again on July 18.

Authorities say 38-year-old Perez fired shots at a Maricopa County Sheriff's deputy outside a substation in Surprise.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio says the unidentified deputy wasn't injured with the substation's bulletproof doors absorbing the shots Friday afternoon.

Arpaio says the deputy was walking in the door about 4 p.m. when Perez, who is being held on a $250,000 bond, reportedly pulled up in a car and fired multiple shots.
