SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Scottsdale police are investigating after a body was found in the canal near Hayden and Indian Bend roads Sunday night.
On Tuesday, the person was identified by police as 82-year-old Robert Youtz of Payson.
He was reported missing on April 18.
On April 20, his vehicle was located by the Salt River Police Department in the canal but there were no signs of Youtz.
On Sunday, April 23, a passerby spotted a body in the canal, which was later identified as belonging to Youtz.
His body was recovered from the canal by Scottsdale Fire.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
