A Gilbert mom found a letter from her daughter telling her of unspeakable actions by a family friend.

On October 18, a mother in Gilbert was grabbing some writing paper from her daughter's notebook and found a letter addressed "dear mom."

In the letter were the horrifying details that the woman's pre-teen daughter was being molested by a family friend, 40-year-old Andres Rangel.

She contacted police who interviewed the girl; the girl told officials she was molested four times since June of this year, with the last incident occurring just five days earlier.

Most of the attacks happened in the laundry room of the family's Gilbert home.

With police listening in on the phone call, the mother confronted Rangel and he reportedly admitted to inappropriately touching the girl.

Police arrested Rangel on October 20 at his place of employment in Tempe.

In his police interview, Rangel allegedly told a similar story as the victim, but said that in some incidents the touching was inadvertently done while they were playing.

Rangel is being held without bond on charges of sexual abuse and child molestation.
