An Arizona man is accused of violating an order of protection and cutting a woman's throat.

Police allege in court documents that Aaron James Emerick, 27, traveled to a woman's home in north Phoenix on March 13, cut her throat with a knife and left.

The woman was able to run outside and scream for help where she was assisted by neighbors, said police.

The woman identified her attacker to neighbors as Emerick.

He was arrested hours later at his Mesa home. He did not speak to police and was booked into jail on charges of burglary and attempted first degree murder.

The woman survived the attack and was taken to the hospital, according to documents.
