Hey, Sprouts fans! Sprouts Farmers Market is hitting a milestone -- opening its 250th store -- on Wednesday, September 21 and you may want to stop by to celebrate.

The newest location is at Baseline and Gilbert in Mesa. It's an East Valley homecoming for Sprouts -- the first Sprouts location opened in Chandler in 2002.

The store opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7 a.m. To celebrate, Sprouts gave the first 200 shoppers in line 20 percent off their entire grocery purchase.

There will also be one-dollar deals throughout the store. Plus, what would a Fall grand opening be without pumpkin flavored food? Pumpkin tortilla chips, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin kale chips and pumpkin kombucha are all on the opening-day menu for customers to try.

Sprouts Farmers Market is known for gearing its selection toward the health-conscious, with its organic and natural food options. Sprouts also participates in a food charity program. Stores in the Mesa area donate unsold and edible groceries to United Food Bank. The agency picks up fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste and gives it to needy families.
