Construction is scheduled to shut down a northern stretch of the Loop 101 over the weekend.

Even though the weather has impacted the roadways in the high country, our crews confirmed with the Arizona Department of Transportation that the construction on Loop 101 and I-10 would continue as planned.

This is what was published on ADOT's Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory:

  • Westbound Loop 101 closed between Seventh Street and Interstate 17 in north Phoenix from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Feb. 25) for placement of temporary barrier and lane-stripe adjustments as part of new widening project. Westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Cave Creek Road also closed. Westbound Loop 101 ramps to northbound and southbound I-17 closed. Both I-17 ramps to westbound Loop 101 will remain open. DETOUR: Westbound Loop 101 traffic can exit at Seventh Street and detour along Beardsley frontage road. However, expect heavy traffic. To limit delays, consider other alternate routes, including exiting ahead of closure and using westbound Union Hills Drive or Deer Valley Road. Drivers in southeast Valley should consider using westbound Loop 202 and westbound I-10 to northbound I-17.
  • Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane at 67th Avenue in west Phoenix from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 24) for paving work at the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange work zone. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes.
  • Eastbound I-10 narrowed to one lane at 59th Avenue in west Phoenix from 7 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday (Feb. 25) for bridge work at the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange work zone. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes.
