WATCH: JJ Watt's brief QB experience ends badly

Posted

This is what happens when football coaches overthink things.

Trailing 13-0 in the second quarter of their Wild Card playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Houston Texans finally put together a good-looking drive that had them down to the Chiefs' 2-yard-line.

But that's when the Texans decided to make matters unnecessarily complicated. On first and goal, Houston had quarterback Brian Hoyer exit the game and stuck defensive end JJ Watt in his place.

Whoops.

Then again, maybe the Texans should have stuck with it for one more play, as Hoyer threw an interception on the very next play to let the Chiefs off the hook.
