It's time for Fouhy's Small Stars! This week, we did something we've never done on Small Stars: We headed indoors for some NYS volleyball and a riveting Saturday morning contest between two very good teams.
Meet the Spike Girls in black -- and in the near court, it's the Warriors wearing powder blue.
This game has all the makings of a championship playoff. Both teams are fighting for every single point -- and believe me, the points are not easy to come by.
At the first timeout, both coaches keep encouraging the girls to keep at it, and Game Two is more of the same. These two teams are so closely matched, and neither is stepping up and taking control.
But when all was said and done... The day belonged to the Spike Girls, who offered congratulatory handshakes and a slide under the net for the win.
After the game, Coach gives the girls one last, heartfelt message before summer break.
