We watch plenty of high school, college and pro football… But every once in a while… We have to see how it all gets started.
Tonight we're checking out some 4-5-and-6-year-olds as they get their first taste of flag football.
As the kids are getting their flags on... And getting a few last minute tips from coach... It's nice to have a 6-year-old like Nash to fill us in on some of the details.
“That's a football… and this is our favorite team... the Cardinals!” Nash said. “If you play football, you just, you have to wear a mouthguard because you don't want to, because you don't want your mouth to hurt.”
And the most important thing is to always have fun.... And????
“Also today, i'm going to play... I'm going to do my best, really today.” Nash added.
So with those words of advice... It's time for the coaches to get the kids in position and get this game started.
So Nash.. What's going on at this point in the game?
Right now, we're on on-fense. On-fense, on-fense, on-fense!”
On-fense... Offense... It really doesn't matter at this age.. Does it?
But what's the objective on offense Nash?
“Just have to get past the quarterback... Right there.”
After some hard hitting, fast-paced action... The kids are letting coach know just how they feel.”
“My legs are tired.” “Your legs are tired? Ok, they're getting ready, let's go!”
And just like that.. The kids are ready to go at it again!!
Congratulations Scorpions and Roadrunners... You're this week's small stars!
