You may recognize the name, and the sign, but do you know the history?
Buddy Stubbs has been selling Harley-Davidson motorcycles in Phoenix, Ariz. for more than half a century. More impressively, he’s been collecting rare bikes from around the world for his whole life.
“The first motorcycle I ever had was a 1950 Harley-Davidson 125,” said Buddy Stubbs, Owner of Buddy Stubbs Harley-Davidson.
It’s just one of the 130 bikes that make up his remarkable timeline of motorcycle history.
Born in Illinois, Buddy Stubbs became a motorcycle racing journeyman, Riding for Harley-Davidson from the 1960s all the way up to his last race in 2003.
Stubb’s lifelong collection is now a museum at his dealership in North Phoenix. The museum features motorcycles from 14 different countries, covering more than a century of motorcycle evolution.
“They’re only original once,” said Stubbs. “You can restore them over and over. When they’re original like this, they have a special personality to the point where you wish they could talk and tell you where they’ve been, and the experiences they’ve had.”
Stubb’s motorcycle museum is open on Fridays and Saturdays at their location on Cave Creek Rd. Admission is free.
