PHOENIX- Topo in Gilbert is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Heck, there’s a giant gopher on top of the building to start. Plus, the menu is short but sweet (and savory) with just three items: elote, burritos and soft serve cones. What is better than that?!

Let’s dive into the massive gopher for a sec. Joe Johnston designed the self-proclaimed “iconic roadside architecture” with a goal of being “weird and humourous”. He nailed it.

It is a food stand so let’s circle back to the menu. It’s simple. There’s two burrito options, the Topo and the Topo Loco. There’s one elote option. The menu item with the most options is the soft serve. Choose from vanilla, prickly pear, or a twist plus three dip options including chocolate, lime and prickly pear.

Topo is open Monday through Sunday. Find their full hours online
