Eastbound Interstate 40 is closed near Winslow because of an accident, and authorities say the closure will be lengthy.
Eastbound Interstate 40 has reopened in northern Arizona after an accident closure that lasted much of Thursday morning.
The state Department of Public Safety says the accident occurred just east of Winslow about 3 a.m. when a tractor-trailer truck overturned and then was struck by a second rig.
According to DPS, one of the drivers was injured.
The DPS says the semi that overturned was carrying auto batteries and that smoke broke and spilled what's described as a small amount of battery fluid.
