Officials have announced the closure of both the northern and southern U.S. borders.
The restriction, in coordination with Canadian and Mexican officials, is expected to take place at midnight Friday.

Essential travel includes medical purposes, to attend education institutions, and more. This restriction excludes commercial trade and commerce.
