A man has been arrested following an armed robbery in Cave Creek.

On Sunday morning, Maricopa County Sheriff deputies responded to reports of an armed robbery at home near 56th Street and Dynamite Boulevard around 10 a.m.

There, deputies learned that 29-year-old Jeremiah Weaver had reportedly stayed the night at the residence of the victim, opened a safe, and smashed a glass object over the head of the victim. Weaver then pulled out a gun that belonged to the victim and filled a bag with belongings from the residence before fleeing.

MCSO deputies conducted a search of the area with K9s, helicopters and ground teams but were unable to locate Weaver.

Monday morning, Phoenix police received a call of a suspicious person near Goddard School located near Peak View and Cave Creek roads. The person matched the description of Weaver, who was apprehended and booked into jail.

According to MCSO officials, Weaver admitted to armed robbery along with additional crimes including paraphernalia and criminal trespassing associated with his attempt to flee from the original crime scene.
