A House panel plans to debate several proposals including eliminating the clean elections commission and amending the voter protection act.

House Concurrent Resolution 2013 by Elections Chair Michelle Ugenti-Rita of Scottsdale would ask voters to repeal the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission.

House Concurrent Resolution 2043 by Rep. J.D. Mesnard of Chandler would ask voters to amend the Arizona Voter Protection Act to allow lawmakers to overturn voter initiatives and referendums under specific conditions.

House Bill 2094 by Rep. Ken Clark of Phoenix would allow county recorders to notify voters who have problems with their early ballots. It would also allow voters to fix problems so their votes can be counted.

The House Elections Committee plans to meet to discuss the proposals Monday morning.
