Arizona State Treasurer Jeff DeWit on Donald Trump's tax returns: "There's no requirement"

Arizona State Treasurer and Donald Trump's Chief Operating Officer, Jeff DeWit, defended Trump on him not releasing his tax returns.

Trump's tax returns -- or lack thereof -- continues to be the subject of scrutiny after The New York Times obtained a portion of his 1995 tax records, which shows that he could have avoided paying federal income taxes for almost 20 years

DeWit told ABC15 Tuesday that Trump releasing his tax returns is not a requirement. Moreover, he notes that Trump has released public financials of every asset he has.

"The point of releasing tax returns is to find conflicts of interest," DeWit said. "The financials he's released that display every single asset he owns and every debt he has already shows that."
