Will the Robo Twist open your jars with ease?

Have a tough jar lid that just won't budge? The Robo Twist may be your solution.

It’s a robotic jar opener that is supposed to twist off the toughest lids.

The claim is it will open the tightest jars, even when they are slippery, and all you have to do is press a button.

So of course, we tried it out.

We added two AA batteries, gathered three jars, from big to small, and followed the instructions.

It says with the jar on a flat surface, place the Robo Twist evenly on top of the jar, press and hold the button and release it when the outer jaws pause, and the inner jaws begin to move. Let the firm grip rotate around until the lid pops off.

Seems simple, but right away we found ourselves in a pickle.

After reading the instructions closer, we realized our pickle jar was too big.

The max width the body of the jar can be is 3.5 inches.

So, we tested it out on a medium olive jar, and small baby food jar! We even added a little pickle juice to the olive jar to test the claim of it opening slippery containers.

And I must admit, it took us several tries to get the Robo Twist to work. When I followed the instructions exactly, it didn’t work. It did work a few times for my photographer, but not consistently. When I held the button longer, the lids opened with ease.

So, where does it rank on our Bull or No Bull meter? I’ll admit, it wasn’t my favorite product, the noise was a little annoying, but it does live up to its claim of twisting off even the toughest lid.

Since it does work, I'll go with No Bull!

We bought ours for $19.99 at Fry's Electronics, so try it for yourself and let me know your thoughts. If you have other products you’d like us to try, email me at smartshopper@abc15.com
